Franklin J. Walason

Franklin J. Walason, 72, of Narragansett died Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joyce M. (King) Walason, they were married 40 years. Born in Neptune, New Jersey, he was son of the late Charles and Olive (Estes) Walason. Mr. Walason was a Master Electrician and the proprietor of Franklin Electric. He served on the Zoning Board for the town of Narragansett and was chairman for several years, was a former member of IBEW Local 99. Frank enjoyed fishing, the ocean, was a fan of the NY Giants, and was an accomplished Ball Room Dancer. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Deborah A. Beagan of Charlestown, Franklin J. Walason, Jr. of Winter Springs, FL, Johnna M. Pare’ of West Warwick, David A. Walason of Warwick; two step children, Robin M. Donnelly of Warwick and Michael N. Fernandes of West Warwick; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Raymond Walason of West Warwick, Thomas Walason of Warwick, and Stephen Walason of Plainfield, CT.; and a sister, Sylvia Lomba of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Julia Brown, Charles and Walter Walason. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Tuesday 4-7 PM.
