Frank George Wiener of Narragansett, Rhode Island died at his home Wednesday morning February 16, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Camilla Carroll Wiener, son of the late Elizabeth Wiener Gross and Frank Wiener of Newark, New Jersey. Born April 10, 1919 in Newark, NJ, he graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and received his Masters Degree from Columbia University and did his Graduate studies at New York University. He was a Member of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. He was professor at the University of Rhode Island in the School of Business, and the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey where he developed Case Studies of Turkish Businesses which were accepted by the Harvard Business School for inclusion of their Case Studies collection. He was a mentor to many students and active in the Foreign Student Assoc. at the University of RI. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the Glider Unit at Wright Patterson Field Ohio and was stationed at the Clinton County Army Air Force Base, Wilmington, Ohio. He has lived in Narragansett, RI since 1950. He was a former member of the Narragansett Library Board, on the Committee for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, Dad of Demolay in the Masonic Order, past member of Hope Lodge #25 Masonic Order, Wakefield, RI, and was an esteemed HODAR. He was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church. Frank was married 65 years to Camilla Carroll Wiener, whom he met while in the Army Air Force. Frank and Camilla traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 6 children, Frank C., C. Elizabeth Candas (Sezgin), Robert A. (Janet), Margaret D. Loyd (Doyne), Andrew T. (Ioanna), and Susan P. Ritter (Jeff). They have seven grand children, Nese Lundstrom (Bill), Aydin Candas, Maria and Dimitri Wiener, Junren and Junji Wiener, Aimee Ritter and one great grandson Aydin William Lundstrom. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Saturday 4-6 PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
