Frank L. Richardson, 78, of North Kingstown, died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Angeline “Angie” (Carlini) Richardson. Born in Mechanicville, NY, he was a son of the late Leo and Laura (Babcock) Richardson. At the age of 17, Mr. Richardson enlisted in the United Sates Navy, where he proudly served in the Korean War and Vietnam War on the Aircraft Carriers Kitty Hawk, Tarawa and Midway. After 20 years of honorable service, he retired and put himself through night school, eventually earning his college diploma from Providence College. After graduating, he taught Accounting at the Community College of Rhode Island for many years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve, the National Association of Atomic Veterans, and he enjoyed Genealogy, and was known as the family historian. He will be remembered for his love of his three grandchildren. He is survived by two children, Kathleen Laurie and her husband Jason of Narragansett, and Mark Richardson of Maine; three grandchildren, Max, Samuel and Zoey Laurie; and two sisters, Joan Doin and Barbara Oleksiak, both of New York. He was the brother of the late Edward Richardson, Betty Linnehan and Mary Frances White. Visiting hours will be Friday September 7th at from 10-11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Association of Atomic Veterans, 11214 Sageland, Houston, TX 77089.
