Frank Joseph DeLuise, 92, of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was the loving husband of Mary (Appleby) DeLuise for 65 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Manuppelli) DeLuise and brother of the late Joseph DeLuise. Frank served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a professor of mechanical engineering at URI for over 45 years before retiring. He also taught at Wakefield Music for many years. He was a member of the RI Philharmonic Orchestra. He also was a member of the Wakefield Concert Band and enjoyed spending time with his family. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his children, Susan DeLuise of New Bedford, MA, Frank DeLuise of Wakefield, Kathleen Blackledge and her husband Robert of Seekonk, MA, David DeLuise and his wife Deborah and their children Michael, Joseph, Joshua, and Jacob of Wakefield, Marie Lacerda and her husband Carlos and their children Sarah and Emma of North Kingstown, Paul DeLuise and his wife Rebecca and their children Caleb and Jared of Wakefield, and Michael DeLuise and his children Zachary and Matthew of Richmond. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 2-5pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wakefield Concert Band, PO Box 616, Wakefield, RI 02879.
