Francis Ceasar Fayerweather

October 17, 1914 — April 10, 2010

Francis "Ceasar" Fayerweather, 95, of Wakefield, died Saturday. He was the husband of the late W. Geneva (Brown) Fayerweather. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Hazard Michael and Corrine Fayerweather. Mr. Fayerweather resided in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY for 40 years, where he was employed for Dynamic Instruments, retiring in 1983. He returned to Wakefield in 1996. He was the oldest member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and a direct descendent of King Ninigret, and he belonged to the Masons. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Goncalves of Seekonk, MA Frances Fernandez of Yonkers, NY; a son, Donald Hopkins of Cape Cod, MA; and ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Harold Fayerweather, Edith Pettiford and Isabel Fayerweather. A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11 AM at The Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will take place in Oak Wood Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY. Visiting hours are Monday 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tomaquag School, 390 Summit Road, Exeter, RI 02822 (tomaquagmuseum.com)
