Francis “Frank” DeMello, 80, of Wakefield, died Monday at home. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Romano) DeMello for 54 years. Born in Provincetown, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Frank and Adeline (Souza) DeMello. Following a successful career as a VP of publishing, Frank semi-retired to South County, working as a realtor for Randall Realtors. Upon retirement from realty, he volunteered at South County Hospital, and in his spare time enjoyed fishing, boating, his cat Jack, and being near the ocean. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Brett DeMello and his wife Colleen of Ivoryton, CT; a daughter, Jill Hill of Clifton, Virginia; two granddaughters, Abigail Hill and Jessica Hill; and a sister, Carol Pavao of Provincetown, Massachusetts. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South County Hospital, 100 Kenyon Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
