Francine Carpenter

Francine Carpenter, 88, of Charlestown, died Wednesday. She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Carpenter, whom she met during World War II. Born in St. Aubin, France, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite Passeroni. Mrs. Carpenter owned and operated with her late husband, Carpenter’s Garage for many years. She also had worked at the George C. Moore Company and the former LADD School. She is survived by three children, Joseph Carpenter and Gilbert Carpenter, both of Charlestown, and Elaine Riccitelli of South Kingstown; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert Carpenter and sister of the late Leo Passeroni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday, 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 146 Clifford Street, Providence, RI 02903.
