Frances M. Allen

Frances Marie (Terry) Allen, 85, of Wakefield, RI, died peacefully on August 25, 2024. She was born in Providence, RI, on December 29, 1938, to John and Evelyn Terry and raised in North Providence.

Fran graduated from St. Xavier Academy in Providence, married Ronald G. Allen in 1960, and raised seven children. Fran was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved Rhode Island’s charms, cherishing beach time and marathon days at Sand Hill Cove with her children and friends. She was an enthusiastic fan at athletic events involving her family and lifelong friends with an inseparable group of St. Xavier classmates known as “The Pearls.”

In addition to her devoted husband of 64 years, Fran leaves their seven children, Ronald (Caroline) Allen Jr. of Naples, FL; Jeffrey (Karen) Allen of Charlestown, RI; Terry (Michael Lanza) Allen of Newport, RI; Tracy (Chester) Duff of South Kingstown, RI; Christoper (Lyn) Allen of Charlestown, RI; Kevin (Mary) Allen of Huntington Beach, CA; and Tara (Jose Salazar) Allen of Greenwich, CT; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gerald J. Terry of Narragansett, RI. Her parents and two brothers, John Terry and Edwin Terry, predeceased her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30th at 11:00 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. Calling hours will be held from 9 am to 11 am on Friday, August 30th in Avery- Storti Funeral Home.
