Everett J. “Daddy” Hopkins, 83, of Colonial Mill Watercress Farm on Moonstone Beach Rd., died Monday June 25th at home. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late John W. and Nina (Mellor) Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was a WW II US Army Air Corp. Veteran. He was an educator/ principal for many years and the founder of Daddy’s Bread. He leaves Barbara (Rayner) Hopkins and their six children; Laurie A. Hines and her husband Nelson R. of South Kingstown and Columbus, GA, Jonathan R. Hopkins of South Kingstown, Julie R. Hopkins-DeSantis and her husband David J. of South Kingstown, Thomas E. Hopkins and his wife Andrea C. of Queensbury, NY, Jennifer Hopkins Manzo and her husband Anthony of South Kingstown, Jeanette M. Rayner and her husband Jeffrey T. of South Kingstown; eight grandchildren, John –Austin H. Hines, Ashley J. H. Hines, Kenneth E. C. Hopkins, Jonathan K. Hopkins, Hannah E. Hopkins, Thomas J. Hopkins, Michael D. Hopkins-DeSantis and Joshua D. Hopkins-DeSantis. He was father of the late Keith J. Hopkins and brother of the late Frank M. Hopkins.
