Evelyn Northup

October 17, 1946 — July 23, 2025

Evelyn R. Northup of West Kingston, passed away peacefully at the South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab in the early hours on Wednesday, July 23rd.


Born on October 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Allene and Alfred Girouard. A 1964 graduate of South Kingstown High School, Evelyn spent many years as the Asst. Manager for Aramark Foods at the same high school where she graduated. It was at the high school where she met her one and only, Jim, and they married on Evelyn's 18th birthday. They had 2 kids, Jimbo and Tim.


After the kids were grown, Evelyn and Jim developed a deep love for camping and traveled the country in their Bounder Pusher, even making a trip to Alaska. It was camping where they met a multitude of friends that has lasted for many, many years.

Friends- Evelyn had a plethora of friends from all over. She was a social butterfly and loved her many, many friends with all of her being.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James L. Northup, son James "Jimbo" Northup, sister Beverly Macamaux, and brother Hoppe Girouard.


She is survived by her son, Timothy T. Northup and his wife Stephanie, brother Dan Girouard and wife Karen, and brother David Girouard.


She leaves six grandchildren, Angelica Brissette (Jordan), Alexandria Northup, Dylan Northup (Bailey) Kyra Northup (Justin) Andrew Conley (Sofie) and Zachary Conley ( Rachelle) and three great granddaughters- Sophia, Vivian and Madison, several nieces and nephews and other family members, related or not.


A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined. Evelyn had a love for donating to those in need. If you would like to make a donation in her memory, please do so to the charity of your choice.
