Evelyn M. Kibbe

Evelyn M. Kibbe (Wassmer), 93, of Narragansett and Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Kibbe for over 57 years. Born in Seekonk, MA, a daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Whitman) Wassmer. Mrs. Kibbe was the owner and agent of Kibbe Realty for many years before retiring. She was an active member of the South Kingstown Senior Center; the Rhody Whirlers Square Dancing Club; a volunteer at her local church Thrift Store; was an avid knitter, swimmer and walker. She is survived by her children, Richard T. Kibbe (Roberta) of North Kingstown and Gail A. Deware (Freeman) of North Scituate; three grandchildren, Heather J. Murgida (Anthony), Amanda B. DeSantis (Raymond), Emily B. Kibbe and Jeanne M. Deware, granddaughter-in-law; five great-grandchildren, Keira G. DeSantis, Nolan P. DeSantis, Anthony "AJ" Murgida, Cody S.F. Deware and Sadie J. Deware and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Scott P. Deware and the sister of the late Harold Murray, Florence Murray, Irene Stone, Marie Jerue and Margaret Beliveau. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 9-11 am, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow in the R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
