Eva M. (Jason) Rakauskas, 87, of Narragansett, died peacefully at South County hospital on August 8. She was the wife of the late Albin V. “Rick” Rakauskas. Born in Worcester, MA, Eva and her husband raised her son Richard and daughter Judi in Berwick, PA. In later years, she moved to Fairfax, VA, and then to Narragansett to be near her son. For the past 5 years, she resided at South Bay manor. She was active at St. Peter’s-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, even serving as Miss July (at age 79) in their acclaimed fundraising Calendar Girls calendar. She was also involved with the Narragansett Community Senior center, sang with the Narragansett Notables, and entered many of her handmade quilts in the Narragansett Quilt Show. She is survived by her son Richard Rakauskas of Wakefield, with his wife Johanna and children Kimberly and Ryan, and Judi Kidwell of Sunnyvale, CA, with her husband George and children Kristen and Kevin. She was the sister of the late Volly Jason and Felix Jason. Eve’s energy and positive attitude for feeling forever young leaves an imprint on everyone who knew her. A ceremony will be held in Arlington national cemetery at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s By-The-Sea Church, 72 Central Street, Narragansett, RI 02882.
