Eugene Louis Gene Pickett

Eugene (Gene) L. Pickett, 91, of Narragansett, RI, passed on October 19, 2017, at South County Hospital. Born in Oneida Township, Iowa, he was the son of the late Louis and LaLive (Howe) Pickett. He is survived by Adelaide “Sis” (Quanstrom) Pickett, his beloved wife of 67 years, his children, Sandra (Victor) Quaglieri, Nancy (Glenn) Woodman, and Terry (Lisa) Pickett, 7 dearly loved grandchildren, and 9 precious great grandchildren. He is additionally survived by his brother Vernon “Pete” (Karen) Pickett. Gene proudly served in the United States Navy Civil Engineer Corps for 33 years, attaining the rank of Captain before his retirement in 1976. He and Sis enjoyed nearly 40 years of retirement at their home on Point Judith Pond, Narragansett, and most recently at BrightView Commons, Wakefield, RI. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 10 am, at First Baptist Church, 305 Kingstown Road, Narragansett. Burial will be at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, on Monday, October 30, at 10 am.
