Ethel Marie Gray

Ethel Marie Gray, 91, formerly of Peace Dale, RI passed away Wednesday June 5, 2013. She was the wife of the late Deputy Chief, UFD William E. “Bub” Gray. Born in South Kingstown, RI, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Edythe J. (Leahy) Wright. Mrs. Gray worked in housekeeping at the University of Rhode Island from 1968 to 1986. She was a communicant and member of the women’s club of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the mother’s club at the former St. Francis School. She was a former member of Peace Dale Fire Station auxiliary and the Kingston Fire Co. auxiliary. She was a longtime member of Sweet Adelines. She leaves her sons, Dirmid Gray and his wife Janet of Narragansett, RI and Jereld Gray and his wife Edythe of West Hartford, CT; grandchildren, Jody Gray, Michael Gray and Karen Delaney and her husband Michael; great grandchildren, Anthony Gray and Carter Delaney. She was the sister of the late Harold E. Wright and Augustus Cribben. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours will be held Sunday 4-6 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI.
