Estelle Mary Morrissey, 92, of Green Hill passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Leo Morrissey Jr. for 67 years. Born in Providence, RI she was the daughter of the late Alieksandr and Rose Alukonis. She resided in Cranston for 50 years before retiring in Green Hill. Estelle graduated from Hope High School in 1946 and Rhode Island College in 1950. She taught 3rd grade in Cranston for over 20 years before retiring in 1990. Estelle’s greatest love was her family. She cherished the time she spent with Daniel, her five children, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and watching the Patriots. Beside her husband she is survived by her children: Daniel L. Morrissey III and his wife Joanne, Michael S. Morrissey and his wife Ann, Patricia A. Fogarty and her husband Daniel, and Stephen T. Morrissey all of South Kingstown, and Elizabeth A. McKanna and her husband Stephen of Narragansett. She was the cherished grandmother of Kailie, Daniel, Emilie, Nathan, Samuel, Meg, Jessica, Daniel, Olivia, Zachary, Abigail, Austin and great grandmother of Bryce and Carolyn. She was the sister of the late Helen Gavagan, Adam Alukonis and Barbara Malachowski. Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to Estelle’s devoted caregivers: Barbara, Harinder, Donna and Cheryl. We would also like to thank Hope Health Hospice, especially Katrina and April, for their compassion and care extended to Estelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Estelle’s memory to: Hope Health Hospice 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
