Ernest D. George, Sr.

Ernest D. George, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2014, at South County Hospital. Ernest was the loving husband of Mary Gorey George for 65 years. Ernie and Mary shared a wonderful life together raising four children, Ernest D. George, Jr., Susan George Decubellis, Nancy George, who passed away in 1970, and Joseph George. As the children grew up and married, Ernie and Marys house was often filled with with the bustle and laughter of grandchildren and later great- grandchildren. "Jido," as his family called him, could always be seen with a little one on his lap or walking a child around the yard. Ernie and Mary spent their lives in Pawtucket, RI, Deerfield Beach, Florida, Wakefield, RI, and Rangeley, Maine. Ernie is survived by his wife, three children, ten grandchildren, Sarah George Hutchins, Matthew George, Jonathan George, Niki Decubellis Sprague, David Decubellis, Nicholas George, Michael George, and Emily George, Sarah Graybeal, and Callie Kurtz, eleven great-grandchildren, and his dear niece, Sally DAgostino. He lived a vibrant life and will be dearly missed by all. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernests memory may be made to South County Hospital in Wakefield, RI.
