Erik Arthur Abe Abrahamson

Erik "Abe" Arthur Abrahamson, 49, passed away, Friday November 16, 2018, peacefully surrounded by his family after a brief illness. The son of the late Glenn Abrahamson he is survived by his mother Betty, his brother John and his wife Rose, and his sisters, Karen and her partner Dan and Kirsten and her husband Timothy, his nieces Brittney and Ana and his nephew Jared. Erik was a skilled craftsman in the building trade in South County where he resided his entire life. Erik graduated Narraganset High School in 1987 and worked alongside his father at the family business, Viking Sheet Metal and Roofing Company. Erik and his father specialized in custom, intricate copper and metal work to protect and adorn South Countys finest structures from harsh New England weather. Erik not only worked with metal but enjoyed listening to it as well. Erik was the personification of a gentle giant with a large stature and a heart to match. Erik never missed a family function, always brought a thoughtful gift and rarely uttered a cross word. He was the first one to show up if you needed help moving, fixing or just wanted the company of a good man. Erik loved New England sports and followed the Patriots and Red Sox closely. He could name the Red Sox line up or the Patriots roster off the top of his head and he rejoiced in their success, never denigrating the opponent (unless it was the Yankees). Eriks quick wit and equally quick laugh were his greatest gifts and he shared them both with enthusiasm. They say God takes the good ones first, and now Erik will always be his dads "left hand man".
