Emily Wells Sally Bechtold

Emily Wells Bechtold Sally Bechtold, 93, of Wakefield, died Monday, May 11th. She was the beloved wife of the late Col. Charles Bechtold, USMCR, who was a local insurance agent and former State Senator representing South Kingstown. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Comstock and Ethel Shipman Wells. Mrs. Bechtold attended the Walnut Hill School, Natick, MA and Western College in Oxford OH. She was employed at South County Hospital. Sally was an active member of the Kingston Congregational Church for many years, the Tuesday Club and PEO. Three children, Chip Bechtold of Orleans, MA, Andrea Highland of New Midway, MD, and Perry Delaney of Carolina, RI; four grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters survive her. Sally was the mother of the late David Bechtold and sister of the late Herbert C. Wells, Jr. and Harris S. Wells. Funeral services will be private.
