Elsie I. Schmidt

Elsie I. Schmidt, 77, of Grey Birch Court, Wakefield, died Friday. Born in South Attleboro, MA, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Janie (Hodgkinson) Hayward. Mrs. Schmidt was employed as a bookkeeper for Palasides in Peace Dale and the former Warren Pump, and she also had worked at American Power. Mrs. Schmidt had travelled extensivley and lived in New Zealand for 10 years. She is survived by a son, Ray H. Kenyon of Slocum; a daughter, Lynn E. Straight of West Kingston; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Arthur and Robert Hayward and Lillian Tucker. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
