Elsie J. Hazard

September 20, 1933 — April 14, 2024

Elsie Josephine Hazard, 90, of South Kingstown passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14th in her home surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born on September 20th, 1933 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island as daughter to the late Celia Whitford and Arthur Perry. She was the wife of the late Leonard Hazard.


She is survived by her son James Perry and his wife Lorie Perry; son Stanley Perry and she was the mother of the late Gloria Perry.

Elsie was the sister of Lillian Weeden, Alice Nebes, Booker Williams, Juanita Monk, Rose Waite, and Betty Lou Whitford. She was also the sister of the late Clara Scuse, Edward Perry, Clearance Perry, Isabell Stanton, Raymond Perry, Violet Ortiz, Arthur Perry Jr., and Shirley Andrews.


Elsie was the loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and was often called "Ma" by many.


Elsie was a proud member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and was also a beloved member of the Johnny Cake staff for 13 years. She enjoyed spending her pastime outside, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her family. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.


Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 11-12 pm in the Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 pm. Burial will take place at New Fernwood Cemetery in Kingston.
