Elmer S. Congdon

SOUTH KINGSTOWN Elmer S. Congdon, 87, of Post Road, Wakefield, died Sunday. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Horne) Congdon. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Carl G. and Lois A. (Whaley) Congdon. Mr. Congdon was an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT, retiring in 1987. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed genealogy and traveling extensively with his beloved late wife Barbara during his retirement. He is survived by three daughters, Lois Congdon of Corpus Christi, TX, Gail C. Pike and her husband Richard and Karen S. Congdon of Wakefield; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation Thursday 1-2 PM followed by a Funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield.
