Ellis Joseph Kitchin, 70, of Wakefield, Passed away peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn (Stallwood) Kitchin and they celebrated their 45th anniversary on Sunday. Born in Wakefield, June 20th 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Theresa V. (Culligan) Kitchin. Ellis graduated from South Kingstown High school in 1963, where he then went on to be construction labor and eventually a highly skilled finish carpenter he worked for MG Allen and Associates and AF Lusi. He worked on many major construction projects from military bases, hospitals and also schools. In his free time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle all around from Connecticut to New Hampshire, golfing, bowling, coaching and teaching children to bowl and gardening with his daughter. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks South Kingstown Lodge #1899 and he served as Exalted Ruler 1997-1998. He will always be remembered as a gentle and patient man, a devoted and loving husband, father and friend. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Kara Lee Teolis of Wakefield; and two grandchildren, Cassidy Rene Judge and Noah Ellis-Joseph Judge. He was the brother of the late Sharon A. Weinreich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Sunday 4-6 pm.
