Ellen Hoxie

Ellen Marie (Fox) Hoxie, of 4232 S. County Trail, Charlestown, Rhode Island, passed away on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on May 25, 1959, she was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur Fox Jr. and Beatrice (Perry) Fox.

Ellen was the devoted wife of Asa Bellamy Hoxie for 46 years, her partner in life, love, and work. Together, they spent over 35 years building their business, AB Hoxie Inc. Ellen handled calls, bookkeeping, and day-to-day operations with dedication and pride. Asa and Ellen were deeply proud of what they built together and the life they shared.

Ellen was also a beloved educator's aide who dedicated 35 years to Chariho Regional High School and five years to Richmond Elementary School. She adored her students. She spent three decades working in high school classrooms, including behavioral programs and instructional support in biology, geometry, and chemistry. Ellen was honored with multiple awards, including the You Inspire Me Award, Teacher Assistant of the Year, and the Crystal Apple Award.

She loved traveling with her husband and family, enjoyed cruising, and found great joy in gardening.

Ellen was the loving mother of Amanda Barrow Hoxie and Asa Brandon Hoxie, and the proud grandmother of Asa and Ella Hoxie, and Emmett Barrow, who were the lights of her life. She also adored her pets-Rocco, Piper, Dobby, and Bruno.

She is survived by her sister Deb (Fox)Tanner her husband Byron (Buz); her brother Arthur Fox III his wife Melissa; Howard Hoxie; Phyllis (Hoxie) Brown her husband Dwight; and Alex Hoxie his wife Jenny. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Brenda (Hoxie)Anderson.

Ellen's memory will live on in the hearts of her nieces and nephews

McKenzie, Ian, Kim, Izzy, and Ro Anderson; Josias, Daniel, Gavin and Bryce Tanner; Brittany and Nicholas Fox; Lindsay and John Bush; Philip, Rachel, Daniel, Jenny, Luke, Finley, and Colton Brown; Alexis and Miranda Hoxie

Ellen also had a special place in her heart for Kim, Jayden (Jay) and Justin Bossian

Ellen's life was marked by love, dedication, and kindness. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, and the countless lives she touched as an educator, mentor, and friend.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 3pm to 6pm in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. Funeral Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ellen's memory to the Shriners organization and Southern Rhode Island Volunteers (SRIU)
