Ellen Elly Burzon

Elly Burzon, 71, of Calef Avenue, Narragansett, died Monday at her home surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Samuel and Cyd (Kittay) Seckler. Mrs. Burzon was the Executive Director of the SPCA Shelter of Briarcliff for 25 years. She also founded the Simpson Spay and Neuter Clinic before retiring in 2001 to Narragansett. She enjoyed golf, Coca-Cola and chocolate. Mrs. Burzon is survived by her husband, Jay Burzon, also of Narragansett. She is also survived by two children, Beth-Ann Burzon of Mt. Kisco, NY and Dr. Daniel Burzon of Brielle, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Teddi Burzon also of Brielle, NJ; three grandchildren, Mikki-Jean, Daniel, and Jaylin Burzon, all of Brielle, NJ a sister Cynthia Katz of Pearl River, NY; and her two Welsh Corgis, “Lilly” and “Alfie”. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Elly’s name to either the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880 or the South Kingstown Dog Pound, 132 Asa Pond Road, Wakefield, RI 02879.
