Elizabeth Irene Jutras

Elizabeth “Betty” Irene (McKenna) Jutras, 95, of South Kingstown passed away at Silver Creek Manor on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Elizabeth (McComiskey) McKenna. She was the wife of the late William J. Jutras, Jr.

Betty attended Central High School. Later in life, she attended college earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College and Master’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Betty was the Chief of Special Services of Elderly Affairs for the State of Rhode Island.

She enjoyed travelling, especially to Ireland. She was a devoted Red Sox fan attending spring training for 20 years in Florida. Betty volunteered at the Jonny Cake Center Food Pantry.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Elizabeth Ellen Jutras, Eileen Maura Jutras, Sheila Anne O’Neill (husband John Christopher), Kevin L. Jutras (wife Wendy) and Stephen Jutras. She is also survived by her sister Eileen (McKenna) Murphy, as well as 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Elizabeth is predeceased by her brothers Edward McKenna and William McKenna; and son William Joseph Jutras III.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will be private.
