Elizabeth A. Betty Johnson

Betty A. (Corbett) Johnson, 86, of Saugatucket Road in Peace Dale, passed away June 29th at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl C. Johnson. Born in St. Augustine, FL, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Ralph L. and Grace E. (Lincoln) Corbett. She attended Willamette University in Salem, OR and was a graduate of the Prince School of Retail, Simmons College in Boston, MA. For ten years, Betty worked for the US Navy as a material technician. For many years she was a volunteer with Seniors Helping Others organization. She was also an avid pilot, flying Piper Cubs and Cessnas. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey C. Johnson of Wakefield and Glen L. Johnson of Wakefield; and her daughter Carlene M. Johnson of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren and three great-grandsons. A private funeral service will be held at the Peace Dale Congregational Church, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
