Eleanor Adele (Harvey) Whaley, 81, of West Kingston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, in her sleep. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell T. Whaley. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Norris and Eleanor Harvey, and she is survived by her sons, Gary R. Whaley and his wife B.J., of West Kingston; Scott N. Whaley and his wife Sherril, of Narragansett; and daughter, Beth A. Cooke and her husband Jon, of West Kingston; and her sisters Sandra Fagan of Peace Dale and Lynn Ramer of Thousand Oaks, CA; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Whaley was mother of the late Thomas D. Whaley and sister of the late Dale and Norris "Bud" Harvey. Beginning as high school sweethearts, Adele and Russ loved life together and were happily married for 60 years, calling West Kingston home until they moved to live in retirement for 22 years in Tampa, Florida. They returned to Rhode Island in 2010. Her children are grateful she has been reunited with the love of her life. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, and immediately following, burial at the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Tuesday, between 4-7 PM.
