Eleanor E. (Helen) O’Brien, 89, of Aventura, FL and Narragansett, RI, died on July 9, 2010. She was the widow of Edward L. O’Brien, Sr. She was born in Waltham, MA, a daughter of the late Rosalie Zacame and Joseph Bari. Mrs. O’Brien was a retired seamstress and dietary worker for the federal school-lunch program. She lived in the Pawtucket and Narragansett areas most of her life before moving to Florida last year. She was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett, RI and St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hallandale, FL. She was a member of AFSCME. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann Bailey and her husband Edward Bailey of Milton, FL; her son Edward L. O’Brien, Jr., and his wife Jane Asprinio O’Brien of Aventura, FL; Three grandchildren: Heather Lynn O’Brien of Liberty, MO, Patrick O’Brien and his wife Tammy of Cooper City, FL and Shannon McCormick Seiwell and her husband Chris of Claymont, DE; four great grandchildren: Edward and Joshua Dubrel and Zachary and Zoey O’Brien. She was pre-deceased by her siblings: Charles, Bruno and Joseph Bari; Clara Zammuto and Leonora Zaragoza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Eleanor O’Brien can be made to Starkey Hearing Foundation, 6700 Washington Ave South, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
