Eleanor M. Gilman, 96, of South Kingstown, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. She was married to the love of her life Albert Gilman for 59 years before his passing. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Jerdine and Mary (Powell) Waller. Eleanor and her husband ran a dairy farm in Canterbury, CT. After retiring from the farm they moved to a home on the water in Billington Cove where she always held big Sunday dinners and kept the coffee pot going. She was also an animal lover having many pets of her own. She is survived by her sister Barbara Loomis and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings George Waller and Ruth Osterlund. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 10-10:30am followed by a service at 10:30am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI, 02879. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Rhode Island, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
