Eino Dixon Karppinen

Eino D. Karppinen, 64, of Carolina, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17th. He leaves his devoted wife of 37 years, Evelyn (Nyman) Karppinen. He was born in the Bronx, NY and was a son of the late Eino C. and Toini (Aalto) Karppinen. Mr. Karppinen was a logger, owner of Wood n’ Chips, and a former commercial fisherman. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, and will be remembered for his unusual sense of humor. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Nicholas E. Karppinen of Richmond; a sister, Liisa Krause of Perkasie, PA; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday at the West Kingston Baptist Church, 263 Waites Corner Road, West Kingston. Burial will follow in White Brook Cemetery, Carolina. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Thursday, 4-7 PM.
