Eileen M. Yingling

Eileen M. Yingling, 88, of Oak Hill Road, died Wednesday. She was the wife of the late Howard L. Yingling. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mildred (O’Brien) Lambert. Mrs. Yingling moved to Cranston in 1952 and became involved in her community. She volunteered in leadership roles for the St. Paul’s Woman’s Club, was active in the Girl Scouts of RI, as well as many other local organizations. She retired, with her husband, to Narragansett in the mid-1970’s, where she volunteered for F.I.S.H. and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, telling a good story, and being a devoted grandmother. She is survived by five children, Pat Yingling of Boston, MA, Julie (Rick Davids) Yingling of West Kingston, Ray (Jackie) Yingling of Rochester, NY, Terry (Jim Candelet) Yingling of Newbury Park, CA; Michael (Laurie) Yingling of Glastonbury, CT, a sister, Kay (Buddy) Allison of Kensington, MD; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 9:45 AM Monday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Alliance for Better Long Term Care, 422 Post Road, Suite 204, Warwick, RI 02888.
