Eileen E. Sweet, 55, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and an abundance of love on Saturday, March 26,2022. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Horace D. and Eileen B. Sweet. She was the beloved sister of Steven Sweet and his wife Karen, and cherished aunt of their three sons, Christopher, Brandon and Brett, her adoring twin sister Colleen Sweet and treasured sister, Christine Sweet, and precious aunt to Jared and Alexis, and great aunt to Kaia, the light of her world; and beloved sister of the late Michael Sweet. After graduating from Narragansett High School in 1984, she went on to attend the University of Rhode Island, where she was a proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She completed her studies from URI in 1988. Eileen was an athlete from a very young age, she was the first girl to play on an all-boys basketball team for Monsignor Clarke Elementary School and continued playing softball and various other varsity sports throughout high school. She was voted most athletic by her graduating class. Eileen worked in Boston for many years as an insurance agent. After returning home to Narragansett She worked as an office manager for Coastal Plumbing and Jedi Electric for several years. Eileen lived her life her way, on her own terms, and was a firm believer in positive thinking. She was a fun loving, loyal friend, who was known for her infectious smile and heart of gold. There was no limit to the depth of her love and commitment to family and friends. She faced overwhelming odds with grace, dignity and humor. Her awe inspiring tenacity was second to none and she never lost her glorious smile or zest for life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday April 1, 2022, at 11:00 am in St Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road Narragansett, RI 02882. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
