Eileen A. Banks

Eileen A. Banks (Lynch), 67, of Wakefield, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday March 7th. She was the wife and best friend of Thomas W. Banks for 46 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Raymond B. and K. Grace (Davey) Lynch. Eileen graduated from RI College with both undergraduate and master of education degrees in 1969.She taught in N. Kingstown for a short time and then in E. Greenwich, where she spent the remainder of her teaching career in elementary education, retiring in 2002. Eileen leaves two sons, Matthew T. Banks and his wife Susan of Alpine, WY and Jonathan W. Banks, his wife Dawn, and her most treasured granddaughter Lily of Driggs, ID. Eileen was tireless, loving, and giving of her time to family, friends, and church. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 5-8 pm. A funeral service will be at 11:30 am Thursday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 15 East Beach Road, Charlestown, with a reception immediately following the service in the church hall. Burial will take place in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N. Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
