Edwin Anthony Hazard, Sr.

Edwin “Eddie” Anthony Hazard Sr., 62, of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of South Kingstown, RI, died Saturday at South County Hospital, Wakefield, RI. He was the husband of Virginia T. Hazard. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Wallace F. and Rachel (Fry) Hazard. Edwin was a Tech Sergeant for the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving twenty years before retiring. He was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and enjoyed Pow Wows, golf, cooking for the Narragansett Indian meal site and loved being surrounded by family. Besides his wife he leaves, his children, Edwin Anthony Hazard Jr. of RI, Pamela Rachel Whiteside of England and Roger Thomas Hazard of Narragansett, RI; brothers, Wallace F. Hazard and Harrison E. Hazard both of Wakefield; sisters, Eleanor L. Pope of Narragansett, Audrey N. Nocentelli of CT, Lucille Hazard of CT, Laura D. Short of VA, Donna L. Sebastian of CT and the late Ellen L. Hazard and Sarah M. Blasedell and five grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 AM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visiting hours Thursday 5-7 PM.
