Edward L. O'Brien, Sr.

Edward L. O’Brien, Sr., 86, of Narragansett, RI, died on Monday, October 26, 2009 while visiting family members in Hollywood, FL. He was the husband of Eleanor E. (Bari) O’Brien with whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on Nov 3, 2009. He was born in Pawtucket and was a son of the late Thomas E. and Rosanna (Rogers) O’Brien. Mr. O’Brien was a retired plumber and World War II Army Veteran that lived in the Pawtucket/Central Falls area most of his life, before retiring to Narragansett 30 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett, an active member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 51 in East Providence and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Ann Bailey and her husband Edward of Milton, FL; his son Edward L. O’Brien, Jr., and his wife Jane Asprinio O’Brien of Aventura, FL; three grandchildren: Heather Lynn O’Brien of Liberty, MO, Patrick O’Brien and his wife Tammy of Cooper City, FL and Shannon McCormick Seiwell and her husband Chris of Claymont, DE; four great grandchildren: Edward and Joshua Dubrel and Zachary and Zoey O’Brien. He was the brother of the late Alice Majeski, Mary Chaput, John O’Brien and Thomas O’Brien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road Narragansett. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Edward L. O’Brien, Sr., may be made to Solid Rock Missions, PO Box 334, Wauseon, OH 43567.
