Edward T. Mis

Edward Mis, Jr was born in Springfield, MA to the late Edward and Julia (Kaminski) Mis. Ed grew up in Chicopee, MA and graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School Class of 1966, where he was a co-captain of the varsity football team. He then graduated from Central Connecticut State College Class of 1970 in New Britain, CT. and was a member of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity. Edward was married for 52 years until his passing to Kathleen McMahon. They resided in Vernon, CT for 20 years and then in 1990 moved to Wakefield, RI until the present time. He especially loved the Matunuck RI area. Ed worked in various lumber related companies which included partnerships in Vadnais Lumber and Springfield Lumber in the Springfield MA area. In 1994 Ed became a sales representative for BB&S Treated Lumber in marine lumber sales, and he also owned ETM Lumber & Hardware Supplies, Inc. He worked for both RI companies until his retirement in 2015. He is survived by daughters Rebecca Mis of Medford, MA, and Elisa Mis O’Keefe and her husband Christopher and granddaughter Ashleigh O’Keefe of Hanson, MA. He is also survived by his brother Robert Mis of East Hartford, CT and many close family members and friends. Ed loved gardening, and was a loyal fan of all New England sports teams, especially the NE Patriots as well as some favorite college basketball teams. He had a special connection and loved being around dogs. Having a deep faith, Ed was a very active member of St Francis and St Romuald Churches in Wakefield, RI and St James Church in Charlestown, RI. He was a member of RI Men of St Joseph. A celebration of life will take place at St Romuald Chapel 61 Atlantic Ave, South Kingstown (Matunuck) RI on Saturday, April 30, 2022 calling hours at 10am Mass to follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Jimmy Fund or Make A Wish Fund would be appreciated.
