Edward C. Christensen

Edward C. Christensen, 94, of Edgewater Rd., Wakefield, died Wednesday at South County Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Judith (Holberton) Christensen for seventy two years. Born in Hartwick, NY, he was the son of the late Christian and Maria Christensen. Mr. Christensen worked as the manager for the former M & M Oil Co. from 1961 to 1981. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed woodworking. He was a longtime member and elder of Quidnessett Baptist Church, Gideons’s International, a board member of Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery and Wakefield Rotary. Mr. Christensen was the loving father of Edward Christensen and his wife Marsha of West Kingston and Cheryl Gale-Johnson of Wakefield; grandfather of Scott Christensen, Chuck Gale and the late Dana Christensen; great grandfather of one and great- great grandfather of three. He also leaves a niece Connie Derby and her husband Steve of Tiverton. A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 29th at 1:00 PM in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
