Edward E. Canfield

Edward E, Canfield, 77, of Wakefield passed away at home on June 23, 2023. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (O’Hearn) Canfield. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Bajor) Canfield for 54 ½ years.

Edward was a teacher in Westerly, Rhode Island for 32 years and was in the South Kingstown police reserves for 12 years. He enjoyed everything to do with cars, traveling, and most of all, being with his family. Edward and Barabara were high school sweethearts, having been together since they were 16 years old. Family meant everything to Edward.

Besides his wife, Edward leaves behind three daughters, Jill Petrarca, Lynn Donath, and Kate Arruda, and four grandchildren, Jack Petrarca, Luke Petrarca, Michael Arruda, and Kinsley Arruda. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Anne Skoutas, Catherine Morris, and Gloria DiPaola.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, 10 AM to 12 PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI. A few words will be expressed starting at 11:45 AM.
