Edward J. Barlow, 93, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016, at home. He was the husband of Gloria M. (DeAmicis) Barlow for 38 years. Born in Milford, MA, a son of the late Walter and Josephine (Scartissi) Barlow. Mr. Barlow was the proprietor of the Werber & Rose Co. in Clinton, MA and the Werber & Rose Co. in Milford, MA; he donated the Clinton store to the Perkins School in Lancaster, MA which was known as the Barlow Center and now the Perkins Barlow Center; Ed was known to everyone in the Clinton area and his business as “Eddie Barlow”; a Merchant Marine Veteran; a former member of the Rotary Club in Clinton, MA; was a large supporter of many organizations; a former member of the Worcester YMCA; he and his wife spent winters in Naples FL and for many years travelled abroad in the fall; was a graduate of Clinton High School; walked 10 to 12 miles at least four days a week and was an avid reader. Besides his wife he is survived by his brother, Richard Barlow of PA; his sister, Dorothy Scanlon of NH; four step-children, Carol Reed Jacobs and her husband Stephen of FL, Wayne F. Reed and his wife Linnette of New Orleans, Holly Reed Keating of West Townsend, MA and Lori Reed Fourquet and her husband Juan Carlos of Coventry; eleven step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter Barlow. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 8:30 am from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Edward Food & Wellness Center, 1001 Branch Ave., Providence, RI 02904 or a charity of your choice.
