Edward N. Avarista

Edward N. Avarista, 77, died peacefully on February 19, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was the former husband of Marion (Masiello) Avarista, with whom he had remained friends for over fifty years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Virginia (Tortola) Avarista. He is survived by his devoted sons, Edward Avarista and his wife Shelley of Narragansett, Robert Avarista (of Robert Anthony Salon) and his wife Kathy of South Kingstown and John Avarista, Sr. of Venice, FL; five grandchildren, Carissa D’Apolito and her husband Stephen, John Avarista, Jr., Robert, Michael and Lauren Avarista; a great-granddaughter, Jeilyn Avarista; he was the brother of Ophelia Prescuitti, Anthony Avarista and his wife Mary, Salvatore Avarista and his wife Diane and the late Luigi Avarista. The funeral will be 9:45 AM Tuesday from the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett.
