Edna M. Colby

Edna M. Colby (O’Conner), 85, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 8, 2016. Born in Pawtucket, she was the wife of the late Lewis A. Colby and the daughter of the late Daniel and Esther (Smith) O’Connor. She was the mother of Lewis A. Colby, Jr. and companion Elizabeth of Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Michael D. Colby and wife Carol of South Kingstown. She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa Colby, Lewis C. Colby, Tyler Colby, and Shannah Colby. Edna was predeceased by her five siblings Esther Silva, Dorothy Joseph, Mildred Souza, William O’Connor and James O’Connor. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Edna was a secretary for Providence Body Co. for many years. She was an avid bowler for over 25 years, enjoying the sport and being with her friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Cottage for providing such quality care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Edward Church, 395 Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday, 5-8 pm.
