Edith B. Sumner

Edith B. Sumner, 93, of Wakefield, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013. She was the wife of the late Richard L. Sumner. Born in Palmyra, ME, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon and Lois (Tricky) Brackett. Mrs. Sumner was a private duty nurse, a farmer, loving wife and mother. She enjoyed quilting, braiding and hooking rugs, crocheting, refinishing furniture and decorating cakes. She was the loving mother of Richard L. Sumner II, Lois Ann Towle, Martha Bradley, Jack Sumner and Laura S. Wilcox; twin sister of Edna Moon; grandmother of ten and great grandmother of seven. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in New Fernwood Cemetery, Rt. 138 Kingston.
