Edith Eddy

Edith Eddy, 76, of Botka Drive, Charlestown, died Saturday at South County Hospital. She was the wife of George A. Eddy. Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Phebe (Hazard) Burdick. Mrs. Eddy was a secretary at the University of Rhode Island for 28 years before retiring. She was a 60 year member, a past master and grange ambassador of Ashaway Grange #50. She was the mother of Rosemary McKiernan, Maureen Barnes, Georgia Hunnicutt and George Anthony Eddy; grandmother of thirteen and great grandmother of two grandsons. She was sister of the late Althea Courchaine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. James Chapel, Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd., Charlestown. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
