Dorothy G Spencer

Dorothy (Goff) Spencer, 92, formerly of 1221 Saugatucket Rd., Peace Dale, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at her daughter Carol Anne’s home. She was the loving wife of the late Richmond L. Spencer for fifty four years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Florence (Ramsbottom) Goff. Mrs. Spencer lived in Pawtucket for fifty years and Touissett Point for seventeen years. She was a registered dietitian and the assistant director of the Dietary Department at Memorial Hospital of RI for thirty five years before retiring. A 1942 graduate of RI State College now the University of Rhode Island and a member of its Sigma Kappa Sorority, she was a member of the American and RI Dietetic Associations, Quota Club International, Memorial Hospital Corporation, Peace Dale Congregational Church and a Peace Dale House Resident Association Officer. She leaves daughters Carol Anne Hayes and her husband David and Virginia Lee Wolfe and her late husband William; grandchildren, Laurie Pusyka, Jeffrey Hayes, Rebecca Hayes and William Wolfe; great grandchildren, Stephanie and Kayla Pusyka, Alexis and Evan Wolfe. She was sister of the late Richard E. Goff Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday May 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia St., Peace Dale.
