Dorothy Shmaruk

Dorothy Shmaruk, 91, formerly of Central Falls, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Michael Shmaruk. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George and Marie Schroeck. Mrs. Shmaruk served in the US Navy during WWII, enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her friends at the senior center. She is survived by three children, Marie A. Shmaruk of Springfield, NJ, Nicholas G. Shmaruk of Narragansett, and Anne L. Beaulieu of Seekonk, MA; a sister, Florence Bettner of Ohio; and seven grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Fred Shmaruk. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 PM.
