Dorothy A. Mclaughlin

January 12, 1923 — February 18, 2017

Dorothy A. McLaughlin, 94, of Palmer, MA, passed away Saturday. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter McLaughlin. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (Troy) Morgan. Mrs. McLaughlin enjoyed music and singing. She sang in church choirs and had her own radio show during the 1940’s in Bridgeport CT., called the Dorothy McLaughlin Hour. She is survived by four children, Beth Baker of Palmer, MA, Alan McLaughlin and his wife Keri of Saunderstown, Nancy McLaughlin of Mt. Arlington, NJ, and Kelin Gormally and her husband James of Somers, CT; four grandchildren, Laura Gormally, Morgan, McLaughlin, Quinn McLaughlin, and Aiden McLaughlin. She was the sister of the late Raymond Morgan, Irene Hayes, Lorraine Thorne, Gertrude Carroll, Thomas Morgan and Theresa Carroll. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday 9-10:15 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will be private. Flowers welcome or donations may be made to Compassus Hospice, 15 Midstate Dr. #215, Auburn, MA 01501.
