Dorothy J. Louzon

Dorothy Jane (Houston) Louzon, 85, of Stuart, FL died peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, 2013 after a long illness. Born in Wakefield, RI, Mrs. Louzon was the daughter of the late Louis R. and Melvina J. Houston. Before moving to Port St. Lucie, FL and then Stuart, FL, she lived most of her life in Wakefield. Mrs. Louzon worked at the University of Rhode Island and then as a bookkeeper at Houston Excavation. She retired in 1985. She was a member of the Nestell Chapter #6 and the South Kingstown Lodge of Elks #1899. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Alfred L. Louzon, her Stepson, Mr. Thomas A. Louzon, and her brother, Mr. Richard Houston. Mrs. Louzon is survived by her three children, Ms. Sandra J. Louzon of Wilkesboro, NC, Mrs. Deborah A. Hampton of Narragansett, RI and Mr. Dale H. Louzon of Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving is Mrs. Kathleen Culbertson, her Stepdaughter, of Vero Beach, FL; 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild and her brothers, Mr. Armand Houston of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Mr. John Houston of Charlestown, RI. A committal service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
