Dorothy A. Gallogly

Dorothy A. Gallogly, 75, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of David H. Gallogly. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. and Concetta (Petrarca) Robida. She was the beloved mother of Lori Ann Paliotti, Michele Dillon Black, Christopher and Stephen Dillon, and the late Dennis Dillon Jr. She was the loving grandmother of Sarah, Lauren, Christina, Thomas, Emily, Aiden, Eison, Vay and Ila; and great-grandmother to John and Rylee. She was the sister of Alfred and Richard Robida, and the late Eugene and Beverly Robida. She is also survived by her step-children Katie Lowell and Lt. Col. Patrick Gallogly and their families. Dorothy had a 33 year career with the University of Rhode Island. She earned her Bachelor's Degree of General Studies 1991. She enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, cooking, painting and cross stitching. She was an avid and expert Scrabble player. She most treasured spending time with her family. The funeral will be Wednesday 9:00 am from Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Romuald Chapel, Atlantic Ave, Matunuck. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 pm.
