Dorothy L. Essex

Dorothy L. (Adams) Essex, 77, died Sunday. She was the beloved wife of the late William B. Essex, Jr. Born in South Kingstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Claire (Greene) Adams. She was an avid crocheter and enjoyed gardening. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and seven granddaughters. She leaves three sons, William B. Essex, III of Wakefield, Nelson Essex of Narragansett, Thomas Essex of Wakefield; a daughter, Barby Corr of Wakefield; sisters, Nancy Stephenson of Kansas City MO, Marjorie Craig of Charlestown, Darlene Kissick, Linda Cacciola and Joanne Stasiunas all of Wakefield and seven granddaughters. She was sister of the late John Adams, Shirley Sherman and Richard Adams. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
