Dorothy Lucile Brooks

Dorothy L. Brooks (Cummings), 86, of Wakefield, passed into the presence of Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 1, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Romine "Roe" Brooks for 64 years. Born in Winter Haven, CA, the daughter of the late Cecil and Lucile (Gibson) Cummings. Dorothy was a graduate from San Diego State University and married Romine Brooks in 1955. With her husband, she led a very active life as Campus Crusade for Christ Staff in Texas, Massachusetts, Arizona and Rhode Island. She led Womens University Bible Studies, summer camps for children and large bible studies for professional women. Dorothy was a member of the Harbor Church. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, David Brooks and his wife Cecelia of West Townsend, MA, Rebecca Brooks of East Greenwich and Deborah Nasman and her husband Gary of Dover, NH; a brother, Dale Cummings and his wife Marcia of Waxahachie, TX; four grandchildren, Kevin and Steven Brooks, Audrey Sienko and Brian Chause and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Ava Brooks. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 11 am in the Harbor Church, 263 Waites Corner Rd., West Kingston. Burial will follow in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, 4-7 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
